Heads down

The last few months have been tumultuous, both personally and professionally.

Needed to sign a new lease for the house.

Wanted to travel to India, but couldn’t.

Had to miss a number of important weddings.

Ginger merged with Headspace bringing more responsibilities than the usual Dec break.

and so on…

Through all of this, like everyone else, I was uncertain about the future. Would I get to see my parents this year? What would the team structure look like, etc.

But every time I faced this issue, I remember the sage advice I received in Mar 2020 in my 1:1. It continued for 30 min but I will paraphrase that here:

“Just keep your head down and do the work, everything else will fall in place.”

Since then that has all I had done.

Won’t get to see the parents — that’s okay, what’s the next option? Would they be able to come and see us?

Need to sign a new lease — that’s okay, let’s see if we can talk to the management and extend it at the current place without a huge increase in the rent.

A lot of things going on at the same time in office, that’s okay — just keep the head down, do your best work and everything else will fall in place.

Like it always does.

And will.
